In 1993, Night Light was born as a low-voltage offshoot from a company Mitch pioneered 10 years earlier. We incorporated landscape illumination design, installation, and maintenance services.
Completed our first installation in Lake Geneva. Joined the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association, one of the premier associations in the country improving the professionalism of the landscape industry.
Dean MacMorris joined as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, bringing expertise from the landscape architecture world. We also grew to two full crews, installing all low-voltage systems.
In 1999, Billy joined Night Light as a field laborer. Later, Nick joined Night Light as a field laborer and the company moved operations to 130 Eisenhower Ln South due to growth.
The Preventative Maintenance Program was developed by popular demand. We completed our first installation in Michigan in 2005. During the following year, Night Light moved operations into 148 Eisenhower Ln N to accommodate additional growth!
Joined Powerhouse SMART, a highly collaborative networking organization comprised of every trade touching the luxury residential market.
When LED lighting was new and blue, Mitch spearheaded a systematic effort to manipulate the new technology to suit Night Light’s standards. He collaborated with his manufacturing connections to develop state-of-the-art LEDs for our use.
The LED experiment had surmounted the learning curve. We confidently implemented LED lighting, meeting and surpassing our former standards for elegant, outdoor, serviceable lighting. They also offer 80% energy savings and greater light output compared to their traditional counterparts, predictable and manipulable light color (no longer only the classic blue), lower installation costs, longer-lasting lamps, and a seamless retrofitting process.
Founder and president Mitch celebrated his 30th anniversary in landscape illumination design.
Migrated operations to 50 Eisenhower Ln N to accommodate another increase in fleet, office, and inventory space needs.
Implemented Aspire ERP software to centralize and streamline operations. In 2021, we implemented EOS for increased accountability and visibility, improved internal communication, and directing company vision.
After years of advancing from field positions to management roles in sales, Billy and Nick acquired Night Light Inc.
